There are foreign investors ready to form new sharia insurance this year

A new sharia insurance company is rumored to be formed this year, as there are investors who are interested in entering the industry in Indonesia.
The number of companies will also increase along with conversions and spin offs. Chairman of the Indonesian Sharia Insurance Association (AASI) Tatang Nur Hidayat explained that the development of sharia finance, including sharia insurance in Indonesia, attracted investors to invest. Investors from abroad also looked at the Indonesian market. He explained that this year there will be the formation of a new sharia insurance company. The corporate action was initiated by foreign investors. "[Foreign investors are interested in forming] a new company, but there is a take over option," He also explained that other corporate actions will occur in existing sharia insurance companies. The action is in the form of conversion to the separation of sharia business units (spin off). Tatang gave an example of the ongoing conversion of PT Zurich Insurance Indonesia (ZII) to PT Zurich General Takaful Indonesia (ZGTI). The corporate action was carried out after the Zurich Group acquired PT Asuransi Adira Dinamika (Adira Insurance). Previously, Country Manager of Zurich Indonesia Chris Bendl explained to Bisnis that his party saw the great potential of the sharia insurance business in Indonesia. Therefore, the conversion process was carried out and the new company is targeted to be operational this year.

Home Ownership Loans Are Still the Community's Prima Donate in Buying Property

The home ownership credit (KPR) scheme is still a favorite funding scheme for people to buy property.
As in Lamudi's press release, this is also in line with the 28 percent growth in interest in property purchases in Semester II-2021 compared to Semester I-2021. The trigger is the implementation of the Government Borne Value Added Tax (PPN DTP) property incentives in 2021. "We note that around 73.8 percent of platform users still choose the option of buying property through KPR," said CEO of Lamudi Mart Polman. This figure shows that the majority of property seekers are very dependent on having access to funding before deciding to buy a property. Meanwhile, incentives from the government to provide price relief for property purchases have a positive impact. So the government's move to extend this incentive has a big enough impact in increasing interest in buying property on the platform. "Especially among the largest users of our platform, the millennial and Generation Z demographics who have a desire for accessibility to affordable housing," he said.

Discourse on Special Entity for Coal DMO Suppliers: Parliament Await Input from Government

Commission VII of the DPR RI proposes a new entity to ensure domestic coal supply.
However, the DPR is still waiting for input from the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM). Deputy Chairman of Commission VII Eddy Soeparno said that at this time the parliament did not know the details of this entity. Although it was submitted at a hearing last week, the DPR is still waiting for stakeholder input. "We are still waiting for comprehensive input and clarity from the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources," During the meeting, member of Commission VII DPR Muhammad Nasir said that this formulation would be determined in more detail between the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources and associations. Previously, the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, Arifin Tasrif, had proposed the concept of a public service agency (BLU) to ensure the supply of DMO. He said this BLU has the same function as the Palm Oil Plantation Fund Management Agency (BPDPKS) in supporting the B30 project. Later, PLN will be asked to buy coal from miners at the market price. Then the difference will be returned from the BLU quote for each company. “This company, of course, has its classification. The low calorie will be charged per ton, the high will be charged per ton. The point is that everything will be subject to that obligation," he explained.

Journalistic Copyright Regulations: Jokowi Gives Green Light

President Joko Widodo offers journalistic copyright regulations or publisher rights to be ratified in the form of new laws,
revisions to old laws, or government regulations (PP). Previously, the Press Council and the Indonesian Journalists Association (PWI) had submitted the composition of the publisher rights regulations to the Minister of Communication and Information (Menkominfo) Johnny G. Plate in October 2021. New or second revisions to old laws or government regulations," Jokowi said at the Peak of the 2022 National Press Day (HPN) Commemoration, quoted from the Youtube Setpres. in accordance with publisher rights regulations in response to digital transformation. The regulation, said Jokowi, plays a role in managing the press industry ecosystem and creating a more balanced competition climate. In this way, it is hoped that there will be a fair balance between local and global platform companies, as well as giant foreign platforms, such as Google and Facebook. Press Council Chairman Mohammad Nuh said the Indonesian press needed journalistic copyright regulations to overcome the phenomenon of digital feudalism, namely the domination of the digital world by global platforms. "We don't want digital feudalism to happen. In order to avoid digital feudalism, publisher rights are needed," said Mohammad Nuh when reading the national declaration on press independence at the peak of the commemoration of the 2022 National Press Day in Kendari, Southeast Sulawesi.

Harmony in Wadas Village is Lost When Everything Feels Right

The pros and cons of a plan are common. However, in Wadas Village, Purworejo, Central Java,
these differences of opinion led to conflicts that damaged the warmth of the bonds of friendship between neighbors and families. In the name of development, every citizen feels they are the most correct. This hot atmosphere began with the andesite mining plan in the village, which is about 16 kilometers northeast of the city center of Purworejo. The rock is planned to supply material for the construction of the Bener Dam. The Bener Dam is a National Strategic Project (PSN) which will be built with APBN funds amounting to Rp 2.060 trillion. Cholifah (45), a resident of Wadas Village, said that the plans for the construction of the mining site and the construction of the Bener Dam have been socialized to residents since three years ago. Not only triggering differences of opinion, the development plan has until now had an impact on kinship and friendship between residents. In the early stages of socializing the mining plan, Siti Rodiyah (48) said the situation in the village was actually fine. However, slowly, he felt the situation starting to heat up because there were outsiders trying to provoke him. Central Java Regional Police Chief Inspector General Ahmad Luthfi said information on a number of social media accounts stating that the police were acting repressively was not true at all. While at the mosque, police personnel spread out to protect the pro-mining residents who ran to save themselves from the rampage of the contra group. He said his party did secure 64 residents. However, all of them are limited to being questioned. Central Java Governor Ganjar Pranowo, who apologized to the residents of Bener Village regarding the riots that occurred last Tuesday, said that despite facing various obstacles related to residents' refusal, the plan to develop the mining area would continue.

Citizen Discipline is Crucial

The Chief Executive of the Task Force for the Acceleration of Handling Covid-19,
Doni Monardo, again reminded President Jokowi's assertion that Indonesia did not impose a lockdown or regional quarantine, but social restrictions. According to him, what is needed now is collective awareness that Covid-19 is dangerous and that transmission is easy and fast. "Let's be disciplined together by keeping our distance, not making crowds or gatherings with large numbers of people. Only national discipline will keep us safe," said Doni. According to Doni, the President's order on social restrictions must be translated by regional heads. So far, the social restrictions that have been carried out by the regional government are closing schools and lectures, urging not to carry out worship activities in groups, calling for work from home, and temporarily closing entertainment venues, such as cinemas and amusement parks. Home Affairs Minister Tito Karnavian asked the regional government to prevent Covid-19 by eliminating social and religious mass organizations and efforts to gather large numbers of people. "The Minister of Home Affairs will have a teleconference on Monday with the governor to monitor the actions of regional heads," said the Special Staff of the Minister of Home Affairs, Kastorius Sinaga. Executive Director of the Monitoring Committee for the Implementation of Regional Autonomy, Robert Endi Jaweng, said the local government needs to exercise discretion to ensure that residents comply with social restrictions. The local government needs to give sanctions to office leaders who have not implemented a work from home policy. According to the Head of the National Police's Security Maintenance Agency, Commissioner General Agus Andrianto, the Police have the discretion to dissolve prohibited events according to the announcement by the Chief of Police.

Separate facts and opinions - HOW TO KEEP A POSITIVE ATTITUDE

The first way to maintain a positive attitude is to separate facts from opinions.
When we do conversation with yourself, negative things can be involved in it. More negativity what we think, the greater our chances of being negative. Sometimes, thoughts What we have is just an opinion, not a fact. When we start to believe the negative and pessimistic things that the inner voice says, this is it's time to stop and write it down. Stop what is being done and write what is being thought about. After that, take a moment to slow down the movement of negativity from our mind. So, we can be more rational and clear in evaluating the truth.

Covid-19 Threatens the Heart

An in-depth analysis of health data in the United States found that people who had been infected with Covid-19
had a 55 percent higher risk of developing long-term cardiovascular complications. These complications include heart rhythm disturbances, heart inflammation, blood clots, stroke, coronary artery disease, heart attack, heart failure or even death. This finding adds to the long list of Covid-19 that must be watched out for. Moreover, the risk of complications from heart problems can be experienced by individuals who were previously healthy and only experienced Covid-19 infection with mild symptoms. The study of the long-term effects of Covid-19 was carried out by a team of researchers from the Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis and Veterans Affairs St. Louis Health Care System. The results were published in the journal Nature Medicine. "Covid-19 can cause serious cardiovascular complications and death. The heart does not regenerate or easily recover after damage. It is a disease that will affect people for life," said Ziyad Al-Aly, assistant professor of medicine at Washington University and senior author. this report, in a written statement. "For people who are clearly at risk of developing heart disease prior to SARS-CoV-2 infection, these findings suggest that Covid-19 may increase that risk," said Al-Aly.

Quality Content, Vibrant Media

This was raised in the National Mass Media Convention with the theme “Building Media Relative Independence Amid Digital Platforms” which was held in Kendari.
This hybrid convention is part of a series of events for National Press Day 2022. Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs Mahfud MD becomes keynote speaker as well as opening the second day of the convention. Apart from Mahfud, the speakers were Andy Budiman, Group CEO of Media Kompas Gramedia; Uni Zulfiani Lubis, Editor-in-Chief of IDN Times; and Chairul Tanjung, CEO of CT Corp. Arifin Arsyad, Chief Editor of Kumparan was also present; Deputy President Director of PT Emtek, Sutanto Haryono; and a member of the Press Council, Agus Sudibyo. Mahfud said, if you want to continue to be sustainable and be trusted by the public, the press should not practice journalism that oversimplifies the process and reduces quality. For example, writing without confirmation, writing unilaterally or not covering both sides, giving the wrong meaning to an event, choosing sources that are not credible, and the practice of chasing clicks (clickbait) by making news headlines that are tempting, but deviate from the meaning. “The good news is that in this survey, Indonesia is ranked second in the world in terms of trust in the media. First China and third place Thailand. The survey shows that Indonesia's public trust in the media reaches 73 percent. This figure is up 1 percent compared to the previous year," he said. However, in another survey, Indonesia ranks second in terms of the level of public anxiety about fake news.

Lying Bulging Investment Customer Loss IDR 117.5 Trillion

The Investment Alert Task Force recorded that the total customer losses due to fraudulent investments so far until mid-February 2022 reached Rp 117.5 trillion.
Losses come from various modes of fraud, ranging from illegal online loans, fraudulent buying and selling of illegal crypto assets, fraudulent foreign currency trading, illegal multilevel marketing, to illegal pawning. Based on data from the Investment Alert Task Force (Satgas), the highest fraudulent investment losses in the last 10 years occurred in 2012 amounting to IDR 7.92 trillion and 2020 amounting to IDR 5.9 trillion. For this year until February 17, customer losses were recorded at Rp 149 billion. "So, this fraud mode continues to develop by utilizing technological developments that have not been accompanied by public understanding and literacy of legal financial service products, as well as the intricacies of the benefits and risks," said Tongam L Tobing, Chairman of the Investment Alert Task Force. In order to avoid illegal online loans, Tongam asked the public to only borrow from 104 inter-party loan financial technology companies that are official, legal, licensed, and registered with the Financial Services Authority (OJK). The list of official and legal companies can be seen on the official OJK website. To prevent more people from becoming victims of fraudulent investments, the Investment Alert Task Force consisting of 12 ministries and institutions has made various efforts. One of them is the fraudulent investment cyber patrol. According to the Acting Director of Information Application Control at the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, Anthonius Malau, his party has blocked 3,784 illegal online loan applications.

2022 Tax Amnesty Program: Paying High Fines an Option

The majority of participants in the Voluntary Disclosure Program or Tax Amnesty 2022
chose to pay the high tariff penalty in the tax amnesty agenda, following the non-attractiveness of the yields offered by the government in special series of Government Securities to accommodate repatriations. The Directorate General of Taxes at the Ministry of Finance announced that there are two series of State Securities (SBN) that will accommodate the repatriated funds in the Voluntary Disclosure Program (PPS). First, Rupiah-denominated Government Securities (SUN), namely FR0094 with a 6-year tenor, which yields 5.37%-5.62% yield. Second, SUN denominated in United States (US) dollars, namely USDFR0003 with a tenor of 10 years with a yield of 2.80% -3.15%. Business actors consider that the yields offered by the two special series of SBN are less attractive, so that the majority of taxpayers participating in PPS tend to choose to pay high fines and not place the disclosed assets into a holding investment instrument. This is also reflected in the PPS data as of February 21, 2022, which recorded an investment value of only Rp. 1.07 trillion. In fact, the total value of net assets disclosed by taxpayers reached Rp. 17.13 trillion. Ajib Hamdani, member of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) for Monetary Policy and Financial Services, said the details of the yield on the special series of SBN further emphasized that this year's tax amnesty program was not able to provide a magnet for taxpayers to disclose their assets. "It is very likely that taxpayers choose not to invest in SUN and choose the consequences of paying a higher PPS rate," he said

Bappenas: Indonesia's Economic Growth Is Expected To Be Even This Year

Head of the National Development Planning Agency (Bappenas) Suharso Monarfa hopes that the targeted economic growth of 5.2 to 5.5 percent year on year in 2022
can be evenly distributed throughout Indonesia. In 2021 the economy will not recover evenly because some areas such as Bali and West Papua are still experiencing contractions, while other regions such as North Maluku, Papua and Central Sulawesi have grown above 10 percent. "There are also industrial sub-sectors that have contracted in such a way," he said at the Public Discussion Forum of the Statistical Society, which was monitored in Jakarta, Monday. Indonesia is also facing a scarring effect due to COVID-19 in the form of decreased productivity, loss of work, loss of learning outcomes, slow recovery in the business world, and the national health system that must be addressed. In addition, he continued, there was the spread of the Omicron variant of COVID-19 which was faster than other variants, even though the symptoms of the disease were not as severe as the Delta variant. "The global economy is expected to slow down in 2022 and 2023, which poses the risk of a hard landing for developing countries," he added. China is also accelerating the transition to New and Renewable Energy (EBT) because it wants to immediately achieve its zero carbon emission target with adequate technological developments.

It's Time to Seriously Protect Personal Data

The leak of a certificate requesting the issuance of an identity card belonging to the Minister of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries 2014-2019 Susi Pudjiastuti on social media after being used as food wrappers shows that the state is still weak in protecting personal data.
The government is expected to have clear standards in the storage of population archives. On December 24, 2021, a letter of application for an identity card (KTP) belonging to Susi Pudjiastuti was spread on social media because it was used as food wrappers. The certificate is accompanied by a photo of Susi and a family card number for making an ID card at the Pangandaran District Office, Pangandaran Regency, West Java. Through her Twitter account, Susi considers what happened to her as a common occurrence. This is because the protection of personal data in Indonesia is still weak. “Isn't this kind of thing common? Protest where? To whom? Every day we get WA (Whatsapp) online loans, investments, promos, and others. Everyone knows our numbers, our data," wrote Susi. Prior to this case, personal data allegedly belonging to President Joko Widodo became a hot topic of conversation on social media. The @huftbosan account uploaded a Covid-19 vaccination certificate on behalf of Ir Joko Widodo, complete with a population identification number (NIK), date of birth, and time of vaccination. The Executive Director of the Institute for Community Studies and Advocacy, Wahyudi Djafar, said that this issue shows the lack of awareness of the authorities in protecting personal data. In fact, it is most basic in accordance with the Population Administration Law. Resident data is classified as personal data which must be protected as regulated in Article 84.

Asian Countries Turn to Other Vaccines, Are Sinovac and Sinopharm Fading Effectiveness?

Across Asia, Chinese-made vaccines have played an important role in immunization efforts against Covid-19, with millions receiving injections of Sinovac or Sinopharm. But in recent weeks, there has been growing concern about its efficacy. Currently, several Asian countries that make vaccines made in China as an important component in immunization programs have announced that they will use other vaccines.
This move raises questions, not only about whether China's vaccines can be trusted, but also about vaccine diplomacy efforts in Asia. Last week, Thailand announced it would change its vaccine policy. Instead of receiving two Sinovac injections, citizens will now receive a mixture of Sinovac and AstraZeneca vaccines. Health workers who have been fully vaccinated with Sinovac will also receive a different injection as a booster injection. Indonesia had announced a similar move the previous week, saying it was giving a Moderna booster shot to healthcare workers immunized with Sinovac.

WHO Criticizes Indonesia's Paid Vaccine Policy

The head of the WHO's Immunization Program Unit, Dr Ann Lindstrand, criticized Indonesia's Gotong Royong vaccine policy. He said implementing a paid vaccine mechanism in the midst of a pandemic could create ethical problems and narrow people's access to vaccines. "It's important that every citizen has equal access to vaccines and any payment can create ethical and access issues, especially during a pandemic.
At the same time, we need vaccine coverage and quantities to reach all those who are most vulnerable," Lindstrand said at the conference. According to the press in Geneva, as quoted by the WHO's official website, Lindstrand said that the basic reason for implementing paid vaccines is not strong enough. This is because many countries have received doses of the Covid-19 vaccine through the COVAX Facility multilateral cooperation mechanism under WHO. Although each delivery of vaccines to COVAX countries requires transportation, logistics and other costs, Lindstrand said the funds have been covered through multilateral development banks, the World Bank and other international institutions.

Ensure Palm Oil Business Has Social Responsibility and Protects the Environment

Every oil palm business activity is vulnerable to violations of human rights or human rights and ignores social welfare and does not protect the environment.
In order to make the palm oil business more sustainable, corporations need to ensure that their business activities are anti-discrimination, respect human rights, and do not employ children. This was raised in a webinar entitled "To what extent do Indonesian businesses protect the environment and care about the climate?" Organized by the International NGO Forum on Indonesian Development (INFID), Sawit Watch Executive Director Inda Fatinaware said Sawit Watch noted that the current oil palm plantation area in the entire area has reached 22.6 million hectares. Even though students are starting to be vaccinated, the South Tangerang City Government has not yet determined the direction of face-to-face learning (PTM)

"Today we are starting to vaccinate for all students in South Tangerang, in principle. Today there are three places, namely SMPN 11, then Sinar Mas World Academy, and another in Pembangunan Jaya," said Benjamin to the media crew.
At least, there are thousands of doses of vaccine provided for the participants, the majority of whom are still in the first state school. However, in the future, the vaccination program for minors will continue to be implemented. "Today there are approximately 1,600 doses of vaccine provided. And we will do that every day at every school or in certain places. This means that vaccinations for our students start every day," he continued. The special vaccination for ages 12-17, said Benjamin, is targeted to be completed by early August 2021. "In total there are around 52,406 junior high school students. Hopefully it will be finished in early August," he said. Nevertheless, Benjamin stated that his party had not yet determined the direction related to Face-to-face Learning (PTM). Although all students have been vaccinated. He didn't want to take the risk. The most important thing is the health and safety of students. "But if the communal preparations haven't been formed, don't do it yet. Don't gamble. Because with the delta variant, it's like this," he concluded.

Kadin Commitment to Accelerate Mutual Cooperation Vaccination

Chairman of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin), Arsjad Rasjid, is committed to accelerating the realization of mutual cooperation vaccinations for business entities.
Entrepreneurs, he said, wanted to help the government achieve community immunity to suppress the spread of Covid-19. Kadin has received registrations from more than 28 thousand companies with a total of 10.5 million participants. Candidates for the mutual cooperation vaccination program are not only company employees, but also employees' families. So far, Kadin has distributed the vaccine in two stages. In the first stage, as many as 330 thousand doses were injected to 165,000 participants. The next allocation, amounting to 600 thousand doses will be distributed to 300 thousand participants. This month, Kadin again received a quota of 1 million doses to be distributed to 500 thousand participants. Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin said the government had high hopes for this program to accelerate vaccination. The reason is that the government needs to inject 208 million people to achieve community immunity. "But, in reality, the road is not as good as we think," said Budi. The speed of vaccination for this program is only 10-15 thousand doses per day. He noted that from the 1.5 million doses of Sinopharm vaccine available, only 300 thousand doses were distributed. The President of the Indonesian Trade Union Conference, Said Iqbal, also admitted that the mutual cooperation vaccination program was not yet optimal. He estimates that only about five percent of workers receive vaccines through this program. The high price of vaccines is one of the obstacles amid the company's declining revenue.

Increase Quality Jobs

the World Bank report “Indonesia's Economic Prospects to Accelerate Recovery” highlighted that the share of employment to drive the growth of the middle class in Indonesia fell 5.2 percent within one year after the Covid-19 pandemic. Initially, in 2019, the percentage of middle class jobs still reached 15.4 percent.
However, after the pandemic, the share fell to 10.2 percent. World Bank economist, Maria Monica Wihardja, said that the decline in decent job growth to encourage an increase in the middle class in Indonesia is something that should be seriously anticipated. "Not only must we create jobs for those who lost their jobs during the pandemic, we must also encourage the creation of higher quality jobs," said Maria Monica in the webinar "Steps to Middle Class Jobs in Indonesia" by the Indonesian Institute of Sciences' Center for Economic Research. (LIPI). To anticipate the short-term economic impact of Covid-19, the government must also implement medium and long-term policy reforms. It is also urgent to reduce poverty and encourage the growth of the middle class which will play a large role in the rotation of the economy. One of them is by prioritizing the entry of new investments that will encourage employment, not only in quantity but also in quality.

Industrial Area Still in Red Zone, Luhut Suggests 15 Days Work in Factory

Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan revealed that several industrial areas still showed red zones for the spread of Covid-19. He also asked the workers' working hours to be rearranged.
“There are still things that need attention, one of which is the workers, where this industry is still a lot of red. If possible, I suggest that their work schedule be tightened," said Luhut. Luhut asked the Minister of Manpower Ida Fauziyah to implement a mechanism that regulates the working hours of workers. If workers usually work in offices or factories 30 days a month, half the time (15 days) can be done from home or work from home (WFH). However, Luhut appealed to companies not to interpret the WFH policy without providing wages to workers. Luhut reminded the Minister of Manpower to make clear regulations. "WFH and being dismissed, please make it clear so that later it can be translated through ministerial regulations or circular instructions from the Minister of Home Affairs. So there are no different interpretations," he said. In principle, said Luhut, the government anticipates a multiplier effect on workers so they are not laid off.
