The B-20 Forum Doesn't Only Belong to Elite Businessmen

Along with its position as the G-20 Presidency in 2022, Indonesia was also asked to host the B-20 forum, which is a group that represents the business community in G-20 countries.
The Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry as the organizer of the B-20 emphasized that this forum does not only belong to elite businessmen and large entrepreneurs, but also micro, small and medium enterprises. "This forum is not only for elite businessmen, but will also promote the interests of MSMEs so that they can grow and go global," said Chairman of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Arsjad Rasjid who is also Chairman of the Indonesian B-20 Advisory Council during a meeting with the mass media, in Jakarta. . During the meeting, the Deputy General Chairperson for Maritime Affairs, Investment and Foreign Affairs of Kadin Shinta Kamdani was also present as the Chair of the Indonesian B-20 Organizer, Bernardino Vega as the B-20 Steering Chair, and Tony Wenas as the B-20 Executive Chair. Arsjad explained that this year's B-20 was the first to be led by a developing country, in this case Indonesia. Therefore, this forum is an opportunity and momentum to fight for business interests in developing countries which are generally dominated by MSMEs. One of the concrete steps that will be taken during the B-20 series this year is to increase the capacity of MSMEs, especially micro and ultra-micro businesses, so that they can upgrade from the informal to formal categories so that they can access capital in financial institutions.
