Eka Hospital, Leading in Service Innovation

Human negligence is a major contributor to work accidents, including in health services.
Ensuring that the chance of negligence is maintained at zero percent, Eka Hospital has implemented the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system for more than a decade. A study released by Health Affairs magazine in 2008 showed that the value of losses arising from medical errors in the United States (US) was valued at US $ 17.1 billion (Rp 242.7 trillion) per year. Other estimates have even led to a projection of US$ 29 billion. Two years later, a US Department of Health survey showed that at least one in seven patients in the US had experienced a medical error. The main trigger? Human error factors such as doctors' fatigue in carrying out their duties, as seen from the results of the Mayo Clinics Proceedings survey. This encourages the importance of using technology to help overcome efficient workloads related to customer service, such as reading medical records, diagnosis, administering medication, to avoidable allergies. One of the hospitals in Indonesia that encourages the use of technology in treating patients is Eka Hospital. The hospital, which was established in 2008 since its first year of existence, has implemented a comprehensive and integrated Electronic Medical Record (EMR) with all medical and non-medical departments.
