Leading Aftech, Pandu Patria Sjahrir Wants Indonesian Fintech to Grow Big
Pandu Patria Sjahrir, who is the nephew of the Minister of Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut Panjaitan, was elected as the General Chair of the Indonesian Fintech Association (Aftech) in 2021–2025.
The appointment of the Scouts was stated in the results of the General Meeting of Members of Aftech II number 005/Governance/VI/2021. In the meeting, Pandu was judged to have met the selection requirements and passed the fit and proper test. Currently, Pandu is the President Commissioner of SEA Group Indonesia, which oversees PT Airpay Internasional Indonesia (ShopeePay). Pandu is also listed as an investor in several technology companies in Indonesia through AC Venture and Indies Capital. In addition, Pandu also holds the position of Commissioner at the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX). "Although it is still in its early stages, I believe that financial technology services in Indonesia have enormous growth potential, such as in China and America to support the national economy and financial inclusion," said Pandu. In addition to Pandu, other figures who are included in the ranks of high-ranking Aftech for the period 2021 to 2025 include the former Minister of Communication and Information in Jokowi's first term, Rudiantara.
