Indonesians Stay Happy Even Though Life Is Difficult, What About Jakarta's?
The COVID-19 pandemic has shaken many sectors of life. However, in the midst of the difficult situation of the nation, the majority of Indonesian people are still happy.
Then what about the people of the capital city of Jakarta? In its survey, the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) mentioned a number of provinces whose happiness index had fallen, one of which was DKI Jakarta. The DKI Jakarta Happiness Index in 2021 is 70.68 points and is in 27th place out of 34 provinces. In 2017 Jakarta's happiness index reached 71.33. Thus, the happiness of Jakarta residents during the pandemic period decreased by 0.65 points. According to an urban sociologist from UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta, Tantan Hermansah, Jakartans have the potential to be groups that are very vulnerable to happiness issues. Moreover, the level of information consumption in Jakarta is probably the largest in Indonesia. Small dynamics in the people of big cities like Jakarta are easy to give stimulus to the perpetrators so that it has an impact on their happiness. "For example, there is a flood disaster in a kelurahan in Jakarta or for example a criminal act in a place, then the information will quickly disrupt the community welfare system," he said.
