Efforts to Dignify "BAHASA" Indonesia

Head of the Language Development and Development Agency, Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology, E Aminudin Aziz in Jakarta
various breakthroughs and innovations were presented throughout this year to support the development of Indonesian language and literature. The use of digital technology is also applied in various programs, both by the Language Agency at the central and regional levels. The commitment to dignify the Indonesian language is realized through the launch of a linguistic application called the Indonesian Spelling Editing Application (Sipebi). This application is a portable offline application that functions to perform automatic repairs/edits of Indonesian text. “The highest error rate is in the use of the word di for affixes. It's a challenge for us not only in spelling but also in grammar," said Aminudin. Sipebi was officially launched on October 28, 2021. As a first work in terms of spell checking, Sipebi is currently in the development stage so it still has many limitations. The language agency also carried out the dissemination of the Indonesian language as well as increasing the role of the Indonesian language in the international arena. Every year an Indonesian Language Teaching Facilitation Program for Foreign Speakers (BIPA) is held at home and abroad.
